I haaaaaate running... I've always been terrible at it, I'm a sea creature. I can't run fast, I can't run long, I can't run.
But that's exactly why I have chosen to do a marathon to end my "Year of Fear". I bungy jumped, I BASE jumped, I went Wing Walking, but running a marathon is by far the most confronting activity I'm going to do this year.
When I mentioned what I was doing, a bunch of people came out of the woodwork and said:
"I've always wanted to do a marathon too"
"That's on my Scary and Exciting list too, can I join you?"
"I used to run and I need to get back into it"
"I don't want to do a marathon, but can I join you to get active again?"
It seems that there's a lot of people who find the thought of running as terrifying as me, and know they NEED to get it done. So let's do it together.
I'm going to start a little WhatsApp group for people in the Scary and Exciting community who want to be part of this journey. Maybe you even want to join me for my first marathon in March 2024??
Here's how it looks:
- I'll be sharing my journey, and want you to share yours.
- we will support and encourage each other through the highs and lows.
- there will be information, and protocols, and tips
- I reckon we can get some of my world class athlete clients to share their expertise and mindset
- I'll show you how I change my beliefs from "I hate running" to "I'm a runner" to "I love running"
- we will not be "slogging it out", we are going to find out how each person can genuinely enjoy running, which is life changing...
Maybe you want to get back into running, maybe you're running for the first time like me, maybe you want to get off the couch and do your first 5km, maybe you're going to notch up a marathon, or even further...
Don't join if you're not going to participate.
